introduction
Believe it or not, this whole website was built by me, and I used Blender at multiple parts of the process! I wanted the site to be "themed" 3d, and the fastest way for me to do that was of course in Blender.
No templates were used to make this site, but I did use Hugo as a framework.
Because I get involved in multiple different facets of development, I wanted my portfolio to tailor itself to the site's visitor while maintaining the option to view the other facets of any given project.
The solution I came up with was to add "layers".
The original "draft" of the site.
The "decompiled" HTML for this very page!

Logo
I wanted a 3D logo that would also nod to the "domain hack" of .art. While it was made originally in Blender, I ended up converting it to SVG for crisp web use.
Background
The materials felt too high-contrast when placed in scene, so I applied a color ramp on top.
The entire scene achieves seamless looping using just a single cube mesh and geometry nodes.
The original background idea, based more on Planes than cubes. Made entirely with shader nodes.
Initially I considered finding a way to recreate the nodes with CSS and Javascript, but ultimately it seemed simpler, less taxing for the user's browser, and more aesthetically appealing to render cubes.
